Hi, I’m Ava and I live in New York.
I’m an Army brat, the oldest of four siblings, and a bookworm extreme. Seriously, my mom is always nagging me to “put the book down!” because I read so much. I can’t help it. I love to learn new things and I really like history. This past year I became a Girl Scout and I started a project to work toward my Bronze Award Project. The project is called “Empower Her Care Kits” and I came up with this idea because when you look at the facts about girls having their periods and the struggles that they go through, it made me want to try and help to make this better. This started as just a project to earn my Bronze Award in Girl Scouts and now I really want to continue this project after my bronze award, too. It’s exciting to think I can make a change for girls in my community and around me. I really want to turn this project into a nonprofit so that I can continue to help more girls and more generations.
